Tag conversations by topic, priority, or type so you can find and filter them quickly.
Tags from AI Companion
When AI Companion is enabled, new messages can be automatically tagged by the AI so conversations are organized by topic, priority, or type. You can still add or remove tags manually—see below. For more on AI Companion, see What is AI Companion.
Enabling Tags
Tags are off by default. To show tags in the inbox and in each conversation:
- Go to Admin → Tags and turn on Show tags in inbox and conversations, or
- Create your first tag (from the Tags page or from a conversation).
Once enabled, the tags row and tag filter appear in the inbox and conversation view.
Adding Tags to a Conversation
You can also add tags yourself. To add a tag manually:
- Open a conversation from the inbox.
- Under the conversation header, find the tags row.
- Click Add tag.
- Type to search existing tags or choose Create tag "[name]" to add a new one.
- Select a tag to add it. You can add up to 10 tags per conversation.
Removing a Tag
Click the × on a tag chip in the conversation header to remove it. You need "Add/remove tags on conversations" permission to add or remove tags.
Filtering the Inbox by Tag
- In the inbox, use the Filter by tag dropdown (or open a tag from Statistics) to show only conversations that have that tag.
- The URL will include
?tagId=.... Clear the filter to see all conversations again.
Tips
- Use consistent names (e.g. "billing", "bug", "urgent") so filtering and analytics stay useful.
- Tags are per form; each form has its own tag list.
