Editing Configuration

- Click edit on AI Name
- Enter new name (up to 50 characters)

The new name appears in suggestion headers immediately.

Configuring MCP
You can optionally add an MCP (Model Context Protocol) endpoint so the AI can fetch extra context (e.g. user or account data) when generating suggestions. Click Edit next to MCP, then enter the endpoint URL (HTTPS), secret key, and a JSON schema for the request body. Map each schema property to customer name, customer email, or a metadata key from form submissions. For full steps and examples, see Configuring MCP.
Deleting Configuration
Permanently remove your AI Companion configuration:
- Scroll to bottom of configuration section
- Click Delete Configuration
- Confirm deletion in the modal
- Configuration is permanently removed
What happens when deleted:
- Configuration removed permanently
- Encrypted API key deleted
- No new suggestions generated
- Existing suggestions remain visible
- You can set up again anytime
Best Practices
Monitor Provider Billing
Set up usage alerts in your AI provider account:
- OpenAI: Usage limits and alerts in account settings
- Anthropic: Billing alerts in console
- Grok: Usage monitoring in dashboard
- Gemini: Quota limits in Google Cloud Console
Rotate API Keys Annually
For security best practices:
- Generate new API key from provider
- Update in AI Companion settings
- Revoke old key in provider account
- Verify new key works
Keep Knowledge Base Fresh
Regularly update your knowledge base URL:
- When documentation moves
- When structure changes
- When adding new content
- To ensure latest information
Review Suggestion Quality
Periodically review suggestion quality:
- Check accuracy
- Verify tone matches your brand
- Ensure knowledge base is being used
- Consider provider switch if needed
